FABRICATION

The fabrication and assembly of plastic components requires a diverse range of skills and proficiency.

The expertise of ThermoPro provides an understanding of today’s complex materials and the different techniques necessary to process them. ThermoPro utilizes CNC machining (up to 10’ X 10’), hot air bending/shaping, solvent bonding, punching, inserting, routing, sawing, deburring and assembly. In addition, fasteners, clips, hinges, fittings, etc., can be installed.  With a wide scope of capabilities, ThermoPro offers their clients the options of thermoformed products, as well as thermoformed and fabricated component combinations, all in a Highly Confidential setting.

HEAT BENDING

ThermoPro can heat bend a thermoplastic sheet to give it a well defined edge. This process
is also known as line bending or strip heating. When a thermoplastics sheet is heated to
the proper temperature, it can be bent or formed. After the heating and bending the part is placed into a fixture and then cooled. After cooling, the part will retain the new shape. Heat bending is used on a wide variety of thermoplastic sheet such as PETG, ABS, and particularly acrylic.

BONDING & JOINING

One of ThermoPro’s most unique capabilities is our specialized bonding process. Our proprietary process can glue like and unlike parts as required with an adhesive that is cured with ultraviolet light. This means the glue joints look clean, especially important with clear parts. Ultraviolet bonding is also environmentally clean and hazard free.
Partnering with Eastman Chemical and Loctite, ThermoPro pioneered PETG bonding for highly cosmetic applications.
